October 10, 2012

Well, the Sistema salad carrier I bought is much smaller than I anticipated. When I pack a salad, I pack basically the biggest salad ever, so this is kind of no where near big enough. However, it is great for a sandwich and some veggies with dip on the top.

In the box:
baby heirloom tomatoes
red bell pepper strips
green marinated olives and peperoncinis
roasted garlic hummus
sandwich with mayo, mustard, and buffalo chicken lunch meat
If you have never heard of Granzella's, well I will tell you they have the best olives ever. I buy the Deli-Mix kind, but they have a bunch of other kinds too. You can order online here: Buy Olives!

October 4, 2012

This was an excellent lunch. I happened to have a rotisserie chicken in the fridge and some ranch from pizza a few nights ago. Boom! wrap was inspired.
Chicken wrap (ingredient list follows)
Fresh pineapple
Grape tomatoes
And as per usual, the unpictured diet pepsi.

Chicken Wrap:
1 96% fat free Mission tortilla, burrito size
3 oz shredded leftover chicken (could sub lunch meat)
2 slices bacon, cooked crisp
1T ranch dressing
sprinkle of shredded iceberg lettuce

It held up surprisingly well with the ranch in the wrap, but should you be concerned about that kind of thing, I recommend putting the ranch on the side to downplay the sogginess factor.

New Salad Lunchbox

I had to share my newest purchase. I feel like bringing lunch to work is more fun when the container is fun.

I already have these awesome lunchboxes which can be bought here: Easy Lunch Boxes

I now decided that I needed one specifically for salads. Obviously packing a salad in a bowl with a small tupperware full of dressing on the side is a completely legitimate option. But it just isn't that fun. So I found this fablous gadget, which can be bought here:  Sistema Salad To-Go

Hopefully my sistema will be here soon so I can get to packing (and eating more salads... I really need to eat more salads).
